Torren and I had an early supper at Chick-fil-A yesterday. He has
always had trouble with costumed characters hence an appearance by the cow
mascot would have been disastrous here-to-fore. Torren told me he is working on
facing his fears. “You don’t have fears still do you?” I asked. “Oh yeah,” he
confessed. “costumes, ghosts, zombies…” he rattled off.
Once upon a time, Grannie Pattie took Torren to visit cousin Agnes Mayes. When Torren noticed the plants bordering the driveway, he saw they were thick with long, slender blades. Pointing at these funny leaves he exclaimed, “Look, Grannie! Noodle garden. Noodles!”

Good old Leia...
Picked up Torren from school last week. Even though his birthday isn’t until September he’s already planning the next. He wants to have a Star Wars-themed party. We discussed various characters in the newest movie – The Force Awakens – and I commented that maybe I could come as General Leia. Torren thought about it. “Yeah, you could,” he agreed. “She IS kind of old.”
